The safety break fitting explained

The safety breakaway fitting is a widely used clip that connects to our lanyards. It is usually positioned at the back of the neck and is designed to prevent being strangled when the lanyard becomes snagged or caught on something.

The clip is made to stay connected and remain at the back of the wearers neck. The design of the fitting means that when weight or load is placed on the lanyard the clip comes apart without any harm to the user. These clips are becoming an OH&S requirement in many facilities and institutions. Security personnel and medical staff are required to wear a safety fitted lanyard.

The clip can be re connected at any time and will last for the life of the lanyard.
